Your most important assets are your feet. The number one requirement is a good set of boots. Make sure they are well and truly broken in before trekking. You may be required to walk up to 6 hours in one day. Also plenty of dry socks including thin sports socks, worn under your normal boot socks to help prevent blisters and hot spots. You will require only 2 sets of clothes whilst on the Track, T-shirt and shorts for trekking during the day and some dry clothes to wear at night. Also take a pair of thongs worn at night to give your feet a rest along with a thin rain coat or poncho. You may also wish to take a hat.
