Please find below a suggested food list for people who are not getting food as part of their package. Please note that all of our packages currently include food.
Suggest Food List and Equipment List
- Pasta side dishes e.g. Carbonara and the various other flavours.
- Sultanas and other dried fruits. (Available in individual packets)
- Muesli bars recommended (2 per day)
- 2 minute noodles (1 per day)
- Salted peanuts or similar
- Tuna comes in a variety of flavours in a foil pack
- Beef Jerky sticks various flavours available
- Jellybeans, snakes M&M’s etc.
- Salami sticks
- Up and Go or soy flavoured milk drink (remember not too many due to weight)
- Packet of Rice
It is advised that you make up ration packs (one for each day) using the medium or large sandwich type glad bags. You will be required to carry up to 3 ration packs at any one time. The other rations will be carried by our Legends so it is important that you label each pack clearly with your name.
An example of one days ration:
- 1 x Pasta side dish
- 2 x Muesli bars
- 1 x 2 minute noodles
- 1 x Small packet of sultanas
- 1 x Tuna satchel
- 1 x Beef Jerky stick
- 1 x packet of salted nuts
- 1 x packet of snakes or chocolate
- Extras may included coffee, tea and sweated condensed milk in the tube form, sugar, salt pepper, stock cubes, sauce satchels and a powdered form of Gatorade or similar. Also you may wish bring a stick of salami, tastes great when chopped up and put into a pasta dish.

Cooking
Hot water will be provided every morning and evening and at some lunch stops. There will also be pots available for cooking so there is no need to take any sort of stove or cooking equipment.
Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
Fresh fruit and vegetables can be purchased at most large villages in the form of Corn, Sweet Potato, Pineapple, Bananas, Mandarin and Watermelon. While this will be a welcome change to supplement our diet it can not be relied upon and is subject to availability.
Water
Fresh water is readily available; it is suggest that you have minimum 2L capacity in the form of a camel back etc. The Legends will advise of the best places to get fresh water and there is no need for purification provided you only take water from these sources.
Eating Utensils
You will require a plastic plate, Metal Knife, Fork and Spoon set, and a plastic drinking cup.
