Your quoted tour price is valid for fourteen (14) days from date of quotation. If a deposit is not received in this time frame a new quotation must be requested. A $500 deposit is required to secure your place on a Kokoda Historical tour and the remainder of the quoted tour price including the price of your personal porter if required is to be paid sixty (60) days prior to departure, with the exception of the airfare, this is required to be paid under the standard terms and conditions set out by the airlines, generally required to be paid within seven (7) days.

If full payment is not made sixty (60) days prior to departure you may incur a late charge to cover the costs of any price increases incurred by Kokoda Historical.

Standard terms and conditions apply for any airline cancellation these conditions will be explained by the friendly staff at Merola’s Travel.

If you require a personal porter after your booking has been finalised you may be charged an extra fee of $100-$200 on top of the normal personal porter charge depending on how late your request is received.

In the event you are unable to make your trip, you may transfer your deposit to another person or keep it as a credit with Kokoda Historical to use at a later date.

You are required to have personal travel insurance please ask Merola’s Travel who are well informed and can give you a great deal. Your insurance must cover the unforeseen cancellation of your trip, the loss of personal items, the cost of emergency evacuation by air from any point along the Kokoda Trail to Port Moresby or Australia if necessary and medical/hospital treatment within Papua New Guinea and/or Australia.

You are required to visit your GP prior to departure to ensure that you are fit to under take the challenges of the Kokoda Track and to provide you with anti-malarial medication.

You are required to hold a current passport with at least six (6) months validity at the time of travel.

You will require a visa for entry into Papua New Guinea. These can be obtained on arrival in Jackson Airport, Port Moresby. A fee of 100 Kina (approximately $50 AUD) is payable.

In the unfortunate event of your early departure from the trek you will incur the cost of extra staff, transportation, administration costs and all other expenses incurred in returning you back to Port Moresby. If you require or request a helicopter lift out you will be liable for these costs.
